Hi,
I just had my 1st go at using the Lastolite and train, here is a photo and how do you get the train as white as the background?

EVELYN LASTOLITE by brendanwest, on Flickr

I was using 2 lights to light the lastolite and one for the subject, I heard that you need an extra light for the train? Is that true?

Thanks for any advice :)

Classic problem. There are lots of threads on this. Basically, you have to fudge it a bit.

You can get the background white by lighting it separately and over-exposing it. You can't do that with the train without over-exposing the subject at the same time. So you put as much light on it as you dare (looks like you could take a bit more at the front) then tweak it in post processing.

Even then, you'll need to do some grey mopping around the edges, but leave a bit of shadow for the subject to 'sit on'.

you could have that sorted in Photoshop in less then a few minutes, as like others have said you going to find it hard to put enough light on the train with out it effecting the subject
