Laser printer toner

Another thing ~ inflation so low then why the heck do prices rise so much over 'inflation'?

I use a mono laser printer and usually by a twin pack of OEM toners (best when there are cashback offers?)

Now, though not required yet as a cart last way longer now because of lower usage but the HP last cost £89.99 in 2016........................now they are £110.11 that is (even though a two year gap) a heck of an increase

So, perhaps time to buy compatibles when needed. But I have always been wary of non-OEM???

Are you using a laser printer with compatible carts, if so whose 'brand' do you use and how do you get on with them???

Yes. We use a Samsung laser mono printer and run it on compatibles. Sadly, there is no makers' branding on either the carts or their boxes so I had to order the replacements semi blind using the link that Amazon's "buy again" feature threw at me. The replacements I have been using have worked fine. Well over 1500 copies of fairly dense text. THESE are the ones for our printer, I expect they make them for yours as well. At least via Amazon, if they don't work, I can return them for a full refund!

having said that I never buy non OEM tonor, pay less get a lot less.
the transfer drum is not replaced in the remade crap.

I have a no colour laser and all but the initial set have been compatibles. Never had a problem with and colours are good.

Cost me around £42 for a set of 4 whereas original HP are £50-£60 each

I had to buy a genuine Samsung for the first replacement (ran out on a Friday afternoon and needed to do 500 prints for Saturday morning - no chance to source and procure a cheaper option!) Did around 1500 pages. The ones I've linked to are brand new rather than refills and have a full warranty from the manufacturer as well as being backed by Amazon's satisfaction guarantee.

@Nod Just looked at the Toner supplier you mentioned and they have a compatible for my HP P1102W so flagged for future reference......................though might buy one now(?) and keep my last HP OEM in the cupboard???

If you have a genuine spare, I'd get a compatible (or 2) and give 'em a try - if they're crap, you've got a good spare to use while you source another. Given the price differential between genuine and compatible, even if the copy only does 1/2 the number of pages per cart, you'll still be ahead of the game. While I always use genuine inks in my photo printers (where colour fidelity is pretty important, as is longevity), the only use for our mono laser printer is text, so as long as it's legible, job's a good'un!

I have no need for colour and use a mono laser for all my printing, currently a Samsung which cost about £50 from Amazon 7 - 8 years ago. The only OEM toner that's ever been through it was the original (50%) cartridge that came in the box, and every replacement has been generic/compatible. No problems or issues at all.

Lasers…..Kyocera……so utterly reliable and the cartridges last for ages, even compatibles.

Have used these superb crisp printers in mono versions for twenty years and would not use anything else for printing text documents, especially as lasers don't 'run' like inkjets do, if paper gets wet.

The toner came with a money back guarantee so I agreed, unfortunately they leaked toner all over the inside of the printer, eventually after much hassle they gave us a set of HP originals to replace their 'refurbished' ones & one of my technicians spent hours cleaning the printer.

Unfortunately you get good non originals and you get not so good ones.

Once you’ve found a good brand you should be fine. I’ve had a couple from Amazon that haven’t lasted very long and put streaks on my prints but the brand I use now have been excellent
