The world’s first Instant Back for 4×5 cameras using Fujifilm Instax Wide film. Proof your large format shots and achieve great details and shallow depth of field on Instax Wide shots.
  • Compatible with all Graflok-equipped 4×5 cameras, which is most 4×5 cameras on the market.
  • The first readymade solution to shoot Instax film on 4×5 cameras, reviving instant photography for large format after the peel-apart film line was discontinued in 2016.
  • Perfect for testing large format camera setup before shooting on expensive 4×5 sheet film
  • Designed to use Fujifilm Instax Wide film, the most accessible and affordable instant film on the market.
  • Achieve great details and shallow depth of field synonymous with large format photography on Instax shots.

How to use a view camera.

Trigger shutter release using finger so to ensure camera shake!...FFS!!

Perhaps handy for some folk like the polaroid backs were years ago but not for me.

If the actual instant print was 5x4 in size ( minus a small border) then perhaps tempted if shooting many portraits for instant gratification to offer the "client" but other than that, I don't see the point tbh.

Some will say beneficial for checking exposure, composition but any experienced LF user will be able to clarify composition on the GG and expose correctly ( besides the differences in the instax and negative film performances will likely be miles apart)

I've preordered one (Intrepid's newsletter had a 5% discount code on top of the 10%).

I miss FP-100c. This is close enough. Being able to give a stranger a print of themselves on the spot is a massive icebreaker.

We'd use peel apart for a bunch of things on shoots, light tests were one thing, keeping track of looks shot on a mood board was another. The prints are also good for distracting those pesky micro managing art directors for a few minutes!

Also @stevelmx5 is cooking up some interesting stuff for the back which I'm definitely going to keep an eye on!

As above, after being sent the link to this by about 20 different people this morning I started working on designs for both a deeper ground glass frame (to push the glass back 19mm to match the Instax plane), and a deeper removable film back to allow sheet film to be exposed at the same plane as the Instax back;

I’ve also drawn up a rough sketch of the LomoGraflok back to see how it will look on a SnapShot, which I’m personally most excited about;

I’ve also been speaking with Lomography U.K. today about the possibility of borrowing one of their beta units so I can test it out for real. Hopefully I’ll have some more information about that soon.

I reckon my new components will be ready before the Lomo back is ;)
Just in case of any possible misunderstanding, my comment was just an 'instant film' type pun for (mild) amusement purposes. Await 'developments'. :) Hope you didn't take it the wrong way and think I was having a pop at the likely time of bringing the product to market. :oops: :$

No offence taken at all :)

I'll also admit that I missed the joke...but my defence is that I was dialled into a podcast while I was typing so was also listening to the interviewer at the same time ;)

Depends on shutter speed though I prefer to use one of these.

So apart from @Asha who doesn’t like the idea at all and can’t see the point of it, what’s everyone else’s thoughts? Dive in and buy it now or wait for @stevelmx5 to make a better version?

Now that Lomo have done the hard work, I'm concentrating on making sure it works well with my cameras so we can focus on shooting film ;0)

What would be useful and fun would be an Instax Wide adapter to replace a 6x9 roll film holder like the Graflex 23 and Horseman holders which fit my Horseman 6x9 technical camera. It wouldn't involve much wastage as the image area fot Instax is 99x62 mm and the corresponding image size for the Horseman is about 84x56mm.
