Can you help me please ???

I bought a VGA to HDMI convertor box with cables etc, connect it all up to my TV and nothing, connect it to my sons TV and it's fine, am I missing something really obvious, or do they not work on all TV's, my TV is a Panasonic Viera 42" plasma,

Thanks.

You should have PC-TV connection on the side of your Vierra I have one on mine.

Plug your PC/Laptop in their with a 15 pin extended cable.

my TV hasn't got the VGA (15pin) socket, thats why I bought the box, to convert the VGA to an HDMI which I plug into the TV, all I do on my sons TV is plug in the HDMI to his TV & perfect, plug it into mine, nothing, ???????????

Are there any input settings on the TV?

Might be it's expecting a signal voltage on one pin and not getting it and the other TV is set differently or doesn't look for the signal.

Front sockets sometimes need to be 'assigned' it might be taking HDMI3 as a socket on the back unless you change a setting to make it look at a front socket for example.

Can you select both HDMI sockets in the menu on your remote. The Vierra has an option to hide inputs. I had a problem with a hidden option for HDMI2 and had to turn it on in a submenu.

Sometimes you need to connect to the telly, then boot up the laptop.
