Does anyone know of an insurance company that will insure a laptop which was bought over 12 months ago?

It's nothing dodgy, just I've never insured my laptop, and I'm getting more and more paranoid that it will break one day!
 
Possibly, but I live with parents (oh the shame) and I'd feel bad ruining their no claims on something that's mine.
But if that's the only way, so be it.
 
Some specialist camera insurance policies let you add your laptop on the policy with the rest of your kit for a nominal amount. I think photoguard do. Not sure how much your laptop is worth, so you'd have to see if it was actually worth it. Laptops have gone from a luxury item to almost commodity and I'm sure if you added up the monthly premium and excess it would be cheaper (and significantly quicker) to just buy another - especially if its a year old already.
