Guys, im planning on going to the lakes for a few days, id like to know if there are any cheap and chearfull places to stay?? Youth Hostels ect... they must be local to the lakes and as cheap as poss as im on a budget!! lol.. it's only for a few days to go walkies and take some pictures..

If theres anyone that would like to meet up up there id be more than happy for that.. im going on my own and the company would be great.. its good to meet up eh..

So, if you live in the area or have spent time there and have any advise as to which Fell to walk up ect id be very happy to hear from you... :thumbs:

www.outdoorsmagic.com have a good Routes section and their forum is helpful too, may be worth saying hello and asking if a search doesnt find the answers. Having a browse through the Gallery section there too.
 
Thanks guys, iv found a few places to stay, gonna ring and see how booked they are, i cant imagine they'll be full at this time of year!! lol..

Thats good news about the wheather!! and bad news you're busy..

Im hoping for a few days in the Lakes then driving up to Edinburgh to see my bestist mate.. lol.. althopugh iv only got a week to do it! im gonna also try and go upto Fort William and the Lochs..

But i think im being a tad ambitious!!
 
Looks like you've timed your trip to perfection the weather is supposed to fine up here for the next few days. I was planning on heading into the south lakes either Monday or Tuesday so a meet up could be on the cards.
 
im hoping for a good day on monday as im off work and ive got lots of skirting boards to do in my house so need to use my back yard for working purposes!
 
Lucky you spending your day off fitting skirting boards. I'm almost jealous.........almost! :D

Kite buggy?? For ME???? it'll have to be a BIG buggy!! lol.. and i need new shoulders before i can indulge in that!! lol.. im 5months post op (Shoulder)...

Not sure where to stay yet.. gonna ring round tomorrow..
 
Right, iv made a decision, im leaving at 4am for the Lakes... i bet it rains all week!!! lol...
 
Im gonna try and stay around Keswick.. iv got a couple of routes planned to walk but im gonna wing it.. iv never been to the area so im going to need to drive about to see lots of places so i wont be doing too many walks.. iv only got a couple of days or so...

Is that anywhere near you??
 
I was planning on heading to the Ambleside area (Loughrigg Tarn, the Langdales) it's a good half an hour drive from Keswick. I'm not one for 20 mile hikes and try and visit a few locations during the day. I could possibly head up that way in the afternoon but I don't know the area and will definitely end up lost!
 
im gonna be in the area for a few days so i will be traveling about, i can meet anywhere, what day u thinking about?
 
If we don't get the telephone number for Kerso's sister it will be a trip to the Lakes on Tuesday so you could maybe be my first forum meet-up:D, but would only be for coffee maybe as I have Mrs Galaxy and two Cavalier King Charles dogs in tow as well.
Just and idea if the Fife coastline trip is off.
 
Got the telephone number for Ian's (kerso) sister so were' off to the Kingdom Of Fife for the day to collect a Canon 100mm macro lens at a great price:)
Hope the weather is as nice as it has been today.
