Ladybirds

Does anyone know anything about them as we seem to find around 15-20 baby ones on a daily basis in the bedroom, do they make nests in houses:shrug:

Yes there seems to be an influx from Europe at the moment and if anyone finds a nest they have to try to get them into a container and send them to Cambridge but we cant seem to find a nest

I have just found the mummy or daddy and its as the links suggest, they are the Harlequin variety judging by them having more than 7 spots

There are quite a few ladybirds with more than 7 spots so I don't think you can ID them just by the number of spots.
In fact I beleive the harlequin can also have less than 7 spots as it is a very variable species.

Just seen the pic and I think it is a Harlequin due to the white letter M at the back of its head.

Is there any way we can get rid of them without hurting them

My friend had an infestation of them recently (she lives in London) and she had to get pest control in to sort them out.

My girlfriend seems to get them quite a bit in her flat and also outside on her balcony though its not quite like an infestation.

Always good for shooting macro with though!
