Kodak to increase film prices again from January 2021

I was one of the ones returning to film during Lockdown 1 mentioned by Mr Badger earlier.
5 rolls of Portra 160 for, I think £50.
I remember walking out of the darkrom at work with a bag of 50/60 rolls of 160, 400, ,800 and Fuji 1600 thrown in and thinking nothing of it.
Like the song goes "Those were the days my friend".

...and without checking my credit card 7dayshop (about 2 years ago) were selling Portra 160 for £24 and Ektar for £26......I wish I bought more :(
As the £ has dropped to the $ and a quick check at one US store (might not be the cheapest), they are paying for Ektar 120-5 rolls £30 and Portra 160 120-5 rolls £35

To be honest (and at the risk of being called a heretic!) I'm not all that struck with Portra 400. It's a bit muted and prone to 'meh' for my tastes. However, I do rate Portra 800 (a lovely but expensive film that's good in low light, but gives nicely saturated and vibrant colours in sunlit conditions in winter and early spring/late autumn) and Portra 160 (which I don't think is all that pricey for what you actually get). When I need to re-stock, I suspect the price of Portra 160 will compensate for the small amount of P 800, while bypassing any P 400. With my 400 ISO colour order going to Fuji Pro 400H, if I can still buy it without selling someone else's kidney!

That's completely fair, for me Portra is very unique and really sets itself apart from other films. I've used Ektar for instance but it has such accurate colours and sharpness that I almost feel like I may as well have used digital.

I only use film for the look it gives me, and I've not found anything close to Portra yet.
