Hi all, i'm a little lost in this part of the forum... The only things I put in a camera are batteries and SD cards...

I got given a 35mm camera to build but its kind of started me off on film cameras.

One of the cameras I have been looking as its a little diffrent is a kodak stereo camera... But I to be honest i know little about them in terms of what to look for interms of a good example. Also as to what to do with the resulting slides and if there is a way get the 3d effect.

Does anyone on here know of any links i can use to learn about these cameras?
 
theres a 3d pinhole camera that comes with a viewer made of cardboard, has a simple lens for each eye and then you basicaly have your left and right picture, and each eye only sees theres
on a pc or tv, then you would need glasses and 3d screen, or occulus rift :)
 
Has anyone had any slides made up to use in a viewer?
 
Not for a stereo camera, I've got mounted slides you can use in a single viewer but I would have though a stereo camera would have slide mounts particular to the stereo viewer, a double jobbie maybe.......I dunno, if it uses just ordinary single mounts you can still get plastic ones that you clip the film in to, its a fiddly faff though.

You couldn't have picked a more awkward thing to want a play with, you need the camera, the viewer ??, the slide mounts ?? and the inclination to fit it all together, the potential for tears before bedtime is huge, but good on ya for trying :)

I'm also looked up the "proper" kodak viewer. 2 slides on a larger card which you place in the back.

Looks intresting :)
 
My brother and I were in Longworth camera's in Farnborough on Sat and they have a kodak stereo in there, looks like a pair of bino's, very odd.
 
Aye, they look weird :)
Never heard of them till i decided i wanted to play with 35mm stuff.
I think the 'oddness' is whats drawing me to it
 
If you are drawn to oddness you'll fit right in in this little section. :geek::D

Srsly?.....the viewer looks like binos, so is that a viewer you've seen there ?
 
Could only see the front with the two lenses side by side, I said to Trev "is that a tlr of sorts?"
"No it's a stereo camera"
Never seen one before John.

Well it looks like i have an issue with the camera :(
When winding on the film it does not always go to the correct spot.
 
Quite a lot sadly, as it cycles through the roll it moves (if that makes sense)
