Hi all

I have a roll of film which I would like to get developed (if possible) , I believe it to be of my final day at junior school 38 years ago,

The film is as follows.

Kodachrome ll
K135-20P
ASA25.15DIN
20 Exposure
24 x 35mm

It has been stored in a sealed black envelope in a draw since the film was used.

I know I can send this to a lab in the US and it can only be developed in black and white, but do any of you know of a UK developer who could give it a go?

Kodachrome film is black and white with layers on the film base that are 'dyed ' in processing.

Kodachrome is unique in this way and as you state can be developed in to a black and white negative film hower Kodacrome is primarly a slide film and would be processed as such if sent to a lab.

I would say that it would be almost inpossible for a resonable price to have this film processed in the UK into B+W neg or even colour slide.

I would drop these guys an email http://www.rockymountainfilm.com/oldfilm.htm

Just bear in mind that the film is almost 40 years old and results will very much depend on where and how the film as been stored

Good luck

What a fascinating prospect :)

You might also want to contact Kodak customer services about this. I know they have had similar requests in the past and had some amazing successes. That was in the days when they had a Kodachrome plant in Hemel Hempstead though and as Rory says everything will depend on how it has been stored.

They might have some helpful advice though.
