Can anyone recommend a set of knee pads please for low angle shots. I've reached that age unfortunately where comfort is increasingly becoming important to me [emoji3]

Welcome to the club!

I found mine, and use them with great
pleasure, at a cheap price at the hard-
ware store in the tiles section.

I need but cannot find bum pads for my trousers. I am of that age where my knees have stopped working so to I do not attempt to kneel anymore, my problem is that my knees are so week that the last 15cm of any attempt to sit down is total freefall.

I would say go for the work trousers also. Plenty of pockets along with knee pads.

that's what I wear work trousers are very hard wearing and have knee pockets for knee pads
I've just ordered knee pads to fit mine
Plenty of choice on eBay for a few quid

Bean bag, rest the camera or kneel on it, alternatively toughen up a bit :)

A right angle finder ( or movable back screen) helps A LOT :

Your not wrong but often the same time as your knees start failing so does your back,so getting bent down or leaning too far forward and down is not so easy easy to do or hold for any lentgh of time.

I just bought a foam kneeling pad for like a quid. Think it's made for gardening! Been really useful for taking photos of mushrooms, plus it means I don't get dirty knees. I can even sit on it if I'm there for a while :D

I've got one of these and it's OK if you are static but I find I'm running out of hands if I need to move

Toolstation (or Screwfix) do kneepads that strap on just below the knee so don't cut off the circulation like the older ones used to. Still doesn't make getting up from the kneel any easier though!

Yep I've tried that and managed to burst open the velco with a few of those little polystyrene balls coming out!

I've tried the velco strap kneepads in the past but I find they make the backs of my knees hot, that leads to my trousers getting wet. I took a gardeners kneeling pad to Skomer this year, it worked well but you do have to keep moving it around. The best kneepads I've ever used we some that fitted into the knee pockets on my work trousers. They worked very well, they didn't make my knees hot either and where always there when I needed them. Its a shame I've not seen any outdoor type trousers where you can use these type of kneepads.

Don't know if they still have any but I picked up a pair of Lidl knee pads a couple of weeks ago. Cheap and they work!
Also they are black so no camo needed.

I had work trousers with knee inserts and whilst they are a godsend for weeding, screwing down decking, or any hands & knees job, they irritated the hell out of my knees when I was walking long distance and far too hot for the summer.

I've since got a backpack that has a bungee thing on the back that is supposed to be for a climbing helmet, but is the perfect size for a foam kneeling pad like @Carl Hall mentioned. It doubles as a great (dry) seat too if you want to perch on a log or a wet bench.

Lots of camera bags also have a pocket for a laptop computer..... pretty much the same size as a thin kneeling pad. / seat cover.
