Ola!

Right, three weeks on wednesday i'm off to sunny Peru for two months, and typically, the only thing i seem to be worrying about is what Camera equipment to take.

Two of my cameras i'm fine with, a little digital compact and my lomo camera.

I'm not sure what to do about my DSLR though. On one hand, it would be liberating to not have to worry about my camera, but on the other hand, a damn shame to go on the trip of a lifetime and not have a decent camera with me!

So basically, anybody who has done some backpacking with an SLR - Any advice? What did you take?

Also, i'm looking for a thin semi-hard case (Not leather!) that would accommodate a 600D and a 28-135usm. I can't seem to locate one that would give a good fit on it?

I'm jealous - I spent a few weeks travelling around Peru last October - lovely place. The only camera kit I took with me was my 550D with Tamron 18-270. It would have been nice to have had a faster lens, but I was still pleased with a lot of the shots I took.

There are a few threads on the forum about travelling with camera gear. Personally I'd ditch the limo camera and take the DSLR.
