Kingsfishers!!!!Awesome!!!!

Ok, I've just got back from a location recommended to me for these beautiful birds, about 3/4 of a mile away from me.....

Got there and within 5 minutes saw three of them, two chasing each other and another a minute later, all making that familiar "chee, chee" noise.

Absolutely awesome. I'll be going back there tomorrow with my camera stuff. I couldn't cotton on where there perch is, but saw them flying past relatively slow enough, for me to catch a good glimpse of them in flight!!!!

Speaking of birds, I was gutted day before I bought my D80 with 18-70mm kit lens, on the way to work me & my Dad rescued a injured heron, he was sat up in the van which would of made a ace photo, he was rescued by 3 Owls bird Santuary in Nordenshaw a couple of hours later after we picked him up, he was exhausted.

Every time I have seen them they are either flying past or too far away even for 100-400...much patience will be needed
