- Edit My Images
- Yes
Ok, so a late start for me - I had an unfortunate accident in the first week of January that resulted in a severed tendon in my right hand. As you can imagine that made photography a little challenging...
Anyway, I have managed to get some images together for the first two themes and will hopefully be back on track by the end of this week! I am determined to try some new styles of shooting and processing this year, so some of the shots may not be to everyones taste. That said I welcome any comments because I want to use this as a learning experience.
Week 1: Curved
So, my fiance and I are expecting our first child in April, I thought this was a fitting subject! She insisted I use a version with booties present to ensure that its clear where her flat stomach has gone. I have tried to create avibrant, high key effect in PP, I know that one of the booties has slightly blown out but I was pleased with it nonetheless. Hopefully you don't all think I overcooked it!
Week 2: Poetry
I have to admit that this week is a slight cheat in that I didn't take the image during the timeframe. I have been helping my Mum produce a website to do with some work on restoring a local war memorial she's involved in. I found this image I took a while ago in my archive and did a fair bit of processing on it to punch it up a bit (by y standards anyway). I felt this was an acceptable compromise given that my right hand is immobilised and how hard it was taking the first image of this challenge. (I'm under Dr's orders to not use my right arm at all.)
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders Fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders Fields.

Cheers,
Kris
