Hi
Has anyone any experience with a Kenco 1.4 Pro 300 teleconverter. I will be using it with an Nikon 300 f4 AF IF -that's the older model.

I have recent experience using it with a Canon 700-300L f4-5.6. It hunted a bit at 300mm f8.0 but eventually managed to focus. At 280-290mm f8.0 focus was no problem.

Hi Ken

I shoot professionally with one, i have a 2 body set up and on the second body i use a D3S with 70-200mm and the Kenko 1.4x, i used tio have 2 Nikon TC's but didn't need to have that much money tied up in TC's so traded it for the Kenko, i have used the Kenko for years and its superb

Heres some pics from the weekend taken at ISO 3,200-10,000 theres zero problems with the AF under poor light as well, about a third of the pics from these 2 games were with the Kenko

I also prefer the older DG version above the DGX version, used prices are around £80 compared to £225 for the Nikon, i dont need the weather sealing on my second body so its a no brainer, zero loss in IQ as well

I have a Canon mount Kenko 1.4x and they are excellent. I use mine with most of my lenses but my favourite lens with the Kenko is my 300 f4L IS. The AF speed doesn't take much of a hit with an f4 lens as it only stops down to f5.6 so it's easily coped with by the camera and the IQ doesn't take much of a hit either. My Canon 2x MkIII that was three times the price of the Kenko gives a slightly worse IQ hit but I would like to compare the Kenko with a Canon 1.4x MkIII to see which is better.
