Hi guys and gals

I'll soon be purchasing my laptop to take to Farlsey so that I can practice 'live wiring' pitch side and the one thing i'm worried about is trying to keep it dry during rainy weather.

Now I know some of you use ziploc freezer bags, but do these cause a problem with condensation in cold weather and also overheating probllems with the lappy?

I'd love to know how you pro's manage

have tried various methods but not cling fill but i know a few who do and have not had any problems
what i do is as you have suggested is use a frezzer bag but it can be difficult to see the screen sometimes and over time the bag will get scuff marks on it so it needs changing from time to time.
also worth trying is a light towel but by far the best method is park your self where you are under cover [not possible at farsley]

i have one of the cases that opens up over the laptop.. if pouring down I ahve a cheap kagool.. i put the hood over me and the rest over the laptop + case... both methods together wortks great and i keep the kagool over the whole lot when not using so lappy can stay open

Lowepro have a version of one of those built into the Compuprimus AW. The only reason that I remembered it was recalling you mentioning the Kagool in the past! :)

Gary does this cause problems with overheating? What about the screen don't you bother with that?
I also use cling-film, although around the whole laptop (small) instead. To avoid over-heating I just cut out squares around the heat ducts. I don't find it difficult to see through to the monitor.

yeah i have a seaport, best investment i ever made! most of the other snappers use it, if its really peeing down, put the visor up and use a bin bag to cover the whole thing!!

Guys which model of the Seaport did you go for and where did you buy it? I cant seem to find any UK sites that stock it

its the seaport visor thingy, they are 2 sizes to suit your laptop.
calumet in Manchester have some in stock, went in last week.
