KASE or NiSi ???

Hi all

Now generally I don't use any filters other than a screw-in 10-stopper that fits both lenses I want it for, so this is an odd one for me

I'm looking to buy a 'system' so I can use a 10-stopper, polariser, and a couple of ND grads too for Workshop attendees who'd like to try them; hence a 'system' is needed so I can fit them to a range of attendees' lens diameters

So which would you recommend and why?

there is no place for ND grads in 2025. Software does it all so much better. I have a rather lengthy post on that in my blog. It is expensive, fragile and only causes issues down the line. Get your CPL, ND or VND from the likes of K&F and be done.

I'm with you on Grads - except, some attendees only shoot JPEG and do sod all PP, so yes there's a case for those, and they are not necessarily beginners either!

Love my Kase. Spent £400 on them and only used the polariser lol. Using them tomorrow for first time.

Well there is your new business angle. "Learn digital workflow".... I just couldn't teach something I don't believe in, something that doesn't deliver desirable outcome. Whether they then go back to their own ways is up to them

Oh don't worry - they do get the 'job half done' lesson that shooting isn't the end of the process

That some just don't want to do that doesn't mean they can't learn to just take better in the first place
