Kaesemann polariser

Basically it's sealed at the edges to stop moisture getting in. Usually quite a bit more expensive but useful if you were extensively shooting in a rain forest or really wet conditions. Otherwise probably not worth the extra.

Seems like it is a trade name for a particular optics manufacturer.

Keep in mind that not only B+W offer Kaesmann CP .. Heliopan offer such CPs too!

It the thing in my bag that cost a fortune, and does not seem to work any better than the dirt cheap one I had before :(

Thats a shame. I picked up a LEE CP at Focus and used it this week. Big difference, much more even and brings the clouds out a treat.

Pete.

OK to be more truthful, the effect is more even, it's just less pronounced (not as blatantly obvious) which is probably the whole point of get a top quality filter. :)
