right click on image and select Copy image URL then paste between image tags

Thanks have done that in flickr and it works but only as a thumbnail. The previous image didn't work because I tried to link to picassa web album. I have tried uploading to a TP gallery but it didn't work...doh! Feeling really stupid now!

Ah so you have Flickr.
Select picture and from drop down arrow above picture (right hand side not actions) and select Grab the HTML/BBCode
Then check BBCode at the bottom and choose size in window above the copy and past from large box straight into your post, no tags required.
