Been the park this morning and what a lovely morning it was, struggled to get any photos due to the fact I cant see the LCD screen. I have three compacts, and I have the same problem seeing the screen on all three of them. Tried to get some photos of my dog, but I could not see her in the screen  fed up with them now.

Decided to get an inexpensive DSLR, simply for the viewfinder and quick responsiveness. Not bothered if it gets knocked or scratched, as it is only for pottering about the park with, etc. Maybe now I can get some photos, of my dog dashing about the park :). Ordered it, now just gotta wait.

Just a simple cheapo bargain basement jobby, nothing to write home about. An entry level D3300, to go with my cheapo 35mm 1.8G that I have had for ages. Going to leave the 35mm on it, and treat it as a compact due to its tiny size, but with a viewfinder

It's a good camera, very capable.

Just can't figure out why I sold my D80, looking at my old photos, and the best and most enjoyable were taken with the the D80.

That's often the way. As the song goes: "you don't know what you've got 'till it's gone". Good luck with the new camera.

I liked my D80 but the upgrade was worth it. I moved to a D200 but it is a bit of a beast, bigger than my newer D5200 - or the Nexes :)

Must admit I nearly did buy an old immaculate D200, not to keen on Compact Flash though..

Compact flash has worked for years, nowt wrong with it.
D200 with standard lens, and compact flash :D

Enjoy your new toy - look forward to seeing some photos with it :)

Now the Easter is over, hoping the post gets back to normal. Just waiting on my delivery to arrive :)

Just tracked delivery via on-line tracking service, and according to that, the camera is in my local delivery office at the bottom of my road :)

That's a nice combo. The more you pay the more the returns diminish. Nowadays we're using yesterday's top of the line features and performance in bodies that are crazy cheap. D200 is also a great body in day to day use.

Postman has just brought me something nice
