and so far i've just skipped over the forum, but I think I love it! lol... 
anyways, seriously a nice forum and the members seem really friendly which is nice as i've used a few others and you get some nice members and some not so nice!
anyway back to me...
I'm a hobbyist, love my gadgets and so will go out an get the new stuff, I have 2 canon 30d's (although one's up for sale) as I've just bought a nice spanking new 5D MK II, ohhh and its a lovely bit of kit, using the 24-105 im very very impressed with it.
have the canon 70-200f/2.8IS lens, a tamron 90mm DI macro lens, canon speedlight 580exII and the 420ex, couple of other bits an bobs to go with that lot.
Have done a few weddings and really enjoyed them, just getting a new site up which should hopefully showcase my images.
I want to learn a little more about using flash kits, using softboxes etc, and try an understand why some images I see are so stunning... such as the work by Jill Greenberg (featured in this months Digital SLR photography if anyones seen it - no I dont work for the mag or anything) I was just wowed by the images she'd taken, would love to learn how she gets that effect/clarity and quality.
