i have just bought another D200 :) and my lens arrived today, but when i took a picture there is a large black semi-circular blob on the bottom, it is a bit intermittent but happens more when its at 18mm rather than 70, and it grows the closer you are to something, is this a lens problem or camera ?? can i fix it or do i need to send something back ??

Post an example Jack.

Also, take the lens off and make sure it doesn't have any major articles on the glass - mind you it would have to be pretty big to show up like that.

Take it off and hold it up to the light so you can see right through it.

Would be inclined to say more likely it is a mark on the lens if it changes in size with focal length?

 We have all been there!

Glad it is nothing serious!

Need to change your camera description under your avatar!!!

Lol right there is a large prize for the person who comes in and doesnt read all the posts and goes off on one about what it could be.... Start the countdown!

I read the first post and knew what the the problem was.No idea why...............:whistling::whistling::whistling:

im assuming that means im not the only one :)

Nope, though most don`t have the cajones to admit to simple errors like this,we all do them.

Wait till you get an ERR mesaage, take the lens off, fart about, miss the shot and then realise the aperture ring has become unlocked and has moved...........;)
