Generally my 3 month rated playlist. That's any tune I added to iTunes in the past 3 months thats been rated 3 stars or above. So thats recent tunes I like.

I think it can contribute to the mood of the shot and put you in the right frame of mind. If it's a landscape shot then maybe some classical or what you consider beautiful/soothing music. If it's an action shot then maybe some up tempo adrenaline pumping stuff. You get my meaning.

I have yet to try it myself it has to be said but I have read a couple of well reguarded photographers recommend it.
