Just bought one of these

Great price, I dont know if id trust 4gb of my shots to a £33 CF card... I look forwards to reading your finding though.

I fully expect that its made using the same parts in the same factory as a big name brand... even the label looks very Sandisky.
 
Well only one way to find out I guess - please report your findings Dod :D

Interesting find that Dod. Could do for second/third card for longer trips. Interested to see what you think of it. I jamp in at Christmas and bought an 8gb Extreme III CF card and got to say i am loving it but could have bought half a decent lens for the price.
 
I've a collection of smaller cards 2G and under. I'm never sure that I want that much on one card. If it breaks, I lose it,.... :shake:
~100 RAW images on a 1G isnt too hard to cope with :shrug:

Still for the price that 4G is a hard one to miss out on.

From what I can find I "think" its samsung. For £33 though it's not that much of a risk.
 
okay, arrived today, what sort of read speed on HDTach should I get from this when connected to a USB2 card reader? I'll be honest I don't think it's the 133X it's advertised at
 
Nope, this things not doing what it says on the tin, I'd say it's taking about three times* as long as my Ultra II's, it's going back :(

*based on a simple in camera test of burstof six RAW shots and counting how long the read lights on with the 1D
 
Bummer! I was poised with me plastic waiting for your findings Doddy. :suspect:

I have a cheapo card which I press into service in the cameras now and again and it doesn't seem to make much difference at all, perhaps due to image caching? - but when it's in the card reader it's a painfully slow process downloading to the PC.
