I've just signed up - I've been looking for a more active forum than the other one I've been participating in (which has become rather slow of late) - you guys are really active, so I hope I can keep up.
Just to fill you in on who I am - My real name is Paul, I've been dabbling in photography for years, but only started to be serious about it last year - when I realised that a DSLR and good software could unlock more than I ever could with film.
I use a canon EOS 50D and have just added a 30D body as a backup/alternate lens mount. I have a variety of lenses - mostly Sigma.
I will shoot pretty much everything - I'm vering toward nature and macro stuff right now (I head off to east africa at the weekend, so nature will feature a lot on my flickr stream shortly!). My aim for the next 12 months is to try my hand at motorsport and aviation. Can't say I do much in the way of portrature or people shots and I'm no fan of hyper-real HDR!!
I like to think of myself as proudly amateur - I have a professional attitude and harsly critique what I shoot, but I don't stress over minor compositional flaws and the like!
When I'm not taking pictures I play guitar and ride a motorcycle.
