No
I've been running a Sony A33 (love it) BUT cant get on with the EVF.
Anyway its sold and I'm just about to buy a new one.

What would you buy next - I'm an amateur that shoots Motorsport (Superbikes & Cars) Plus some wildlife and the usual other family stuff.

My thoughts are

1 - Canon 60D with 18-135mm Lens around £1000
2 - Canon 550D with 18-270mm Lens around £1000
3 - Sony A580 with 18-270mm Lens around £1000

What would you have or something different.

Cheers

I would suggest that the 18-135 lens would be a bit short for motorsports, and that the 18-270 is trying to cover too great a focal range to be really good at any of them.

Rather than trying to cover a wide focal range with a single lens, have you looked at the possibilities of using two lenses to give the coverage you are looking for?

Yeah that's a good idea and more than true.

I was just looking to buy something that would cover "MOST - for general stuff" and then buy a very good quality zoom for the motorsport stuff as a stand alone.

Just really wanting advice on what Camera to go for.

I'd suggest a used canon 50D, 18-55IS (or tamron 17-50 f/2.8 non-VC for a little more) and 70-200f/4L or 70-300IS
Should come out around the £1000 mark.
Or maybe a nikon D90 with comparable nikon lenses.

Have you sold the lens you had with the A33? If you still have some sony mount lenses then the A580 is a better choice.

Just bought the EOS 60D with an 18-135mm IS lens for under £900 ( Brand new UK spec with Uk warranty. )
Bargain I think

Now where to find a 400mm zoom lens :)

What's your budget? A local camera shop recently told me that the 7D is better than the 60D for sports & motorsports photography due to its improved AF.

Oops. I really should pay more attention to who's posted the replies! Ignore the last and enjoy your 60D!
