No - air mollecules scatter light in all directions due to their dipolar nature induced from the EM wave. Blue light, having a short wavelength, gets scattered most so we see moreof it that red. In reality there is more violet than blue (even shorter wavelengths) but our eyes see blue better than violet so that's what our brain interprets it as
