Those of you from MEG will be familiar with this from last year, those that wont, well, here is something for you over christmas,

Dont drink and drive.
feel free to add to your sigs!

:beer: +:driving:= :nono: :suspect2: :nunu:

Be safe over Christmas, dont become a statistic, or worse still, make someone else one.

You may now resume normal activities!

I would just add to that...don't drink and walk in front of sober drivers.
Thats a terrible thing to put on their conscience.

I fully support the no drinking and driving campaign 12 months of the year.
It's illegal...getting cabbaged at Xmas for pedestrians isn't, put can produce the same results.

Be careful out there ;)

its not big and its not clever:hand:

thank god for autofocus tho, so you can still drive ur camera at the party.....:thumb:

Hope you all stay safe over the festive period.

Fully suported from me too :)

Just a note, Just one drink is one too many. Full stop. None of this 'I'll be alright with a quick half' lark.

I operate on the fact that even if I had a little snifter and was way off the drink drive limits, but then killed a child, I would have to live with that on my conscience for the rest of my life, wondering whether if that snifter made the difference.

Drink driving, it's not big, it's not clever, and you're the scum of the earth if you drive your car p***ed :)

Happy xmas! :D

Bang on the nail, couldn't agree more.
Hope you all have a good one. :thumb:

I had a pint and drove last night. HOWEVER, I had my one and only alcoholic drink at 8pm, did not drive home until after 2am. In between those two times I had about 5 pints of pepsi and a kebab.

Was in a group of six people (although we lost two of 'em at about 10pm) :Ponders: and I was elected to do the driving, so fair play. It'll be someone else's turn next time. Think I was the only person in Barnsley that wasn't slaughtered last night. :hissyfit: :hissyfit: :hissyfit:

I was once pulled at 10pm after a pint and a half.
I was tired and had nothing to eat.
The roadside test was positive but the test on the machine at the local nick was negative.

I had to go through the humiliation of having my name chalked on the board, having to remove my tie, shoelaces and belt, emptying the contents of my pockets itemised and bagged.
Not a pleasant experience I can tell you, I felt like a hardened criminal.

Thank goodness that is all I had to suffer...I could have knocked someone down or caused an accident.

Now I'm even careful how much I drink the night before driving.

I know lots of people who have been stopped at morning roadside spotchecks.

having to remove my... ...shoelaces
The thought of having to thread 'em back up again would have p***ed me off more than actually being stopped in the first place.

This is a subject I know quite a bit about. My advice is ignore the two pint rule that is misguided advice. Even one pint on an empty stomach can put you over the legal limit, there are whole host of factors which can effect your blood aclohol level. If you know you are going to drive the only true way to stay safe is to stick to non alcoholic drinks. Also dont drive to where you will be drinking. If you haven't got a car to drive then the temptation wont arise.

Don't forget the morning after either. On average it takes one hour for one unit of alcohol to leave the blood stream. So all though you might not feel drunk the next day there is a good chance you will still be over the limit.
