Joystick or Pan/Tilt?

Just wondered what the general consensus is on Joystick heads, not a fan of fiddling about with Pan and Tilt, so switched to a Manfrotto Joystick, which is so much easier to manoeuvre, easier does not mean better of course. Now I need a smaller more compact tripod and would like to keep the same Joystick system.

Not sure if having a Joystick on a less sturdy tripod will increase shake or Do I switch to pan/tilt to offset the difference?

If the tripod legs are of good quality, you should be able to just screw your head onto it.

Have you considered a good quality ball head?

Ah yes, it is the Manfrotto 322RC2 Joystick ball head I am referring to.
