No
That's a shame, he was really talented. Great roles in 2 of my favourite film, Contact and Alien.

Contact is one of my all time faves too, you know you going to get a good film if John Hurt was in it.

Must admit my first reaction to hearing the news was "Wait, John Hurt was alive?" as for some reason I was sure he died a couple of years ago. I rewatched Alien only last week and clearly recall thinking what a shame it was that John was no longer with us, as he was awesome. Odd!

Great actor who stood out even in lame productions like King Ralph.
His depiction of Quent Crisp in 'An Englishman in New York' was brilliant. RIP

Very sad, his role as Quentin crisp was also my favourite.

As above, he had a huge talent and a very wide range of work behind him. RIP

He will forever be Winston Smith in my mind when I read 1984, a huge talent.

Oh no, now this is sad. :(
Such a good actor, and a very dry wit when interviewed.
RIP

Brilliant Actor. So many wonderful roles, difficult to pin down a favourite. First time I saw him was in 10 Rillington place. He was the bright spot in Spaceballs (Mel Brooks' worst film). Let's not forget The Elephant Man as well. Oh, and Caligula in I, Claudius (I could go on)

Did you mean The Naked Civil Servant?

Good excuse to watch I, Claudius again. What a cast that had!

Wonderful actor. RIP John.

A close friend Lt Ellen Ripley said "We had just sat down and were eating dinner when John complained of some slight abdominal discomfort. This appeared to get worse and there were some 'digestive issues' shall we say. Meanwhile my cat Jonesy has ran off and I have to go looking for him with a torch"

Shamelessly purloined from another source.

RIP JH
