Job Advice Needed

Hi all,

Not been a member on here for long but i am looking for some advice on work. The the reason is that the company i have worked for as a IT Technician for 7 years has just gone into Administration the other week so i have started to look around for a new Job but cannot find much in my area within the IT Sector and not sure if to try something new.

How hard is it to get into some kind of media or photography work.

How hard is it to get into some kind of media or photography work.

I can't really speak of the media world as a whole but to make a successful living out of photography is somewhere between very difficult and bloody impossible.

There are so many people these days that have a digi slr and a few good shots in the bag that take the odd job here and there and it's made a huge impact in the market as a whole.

It's not totally impossible though and if you work at it hard enough, your good enough and have a little luck in just the right places, you can make it happen. The real key thing to remember though is that taking good pictures is never likely to amount to more than 20% of running a successful photo business.
