I suppose all insurance underwriters are much the same . I just received my renewal notice for home and contents an increase of nearly 500 dollars . They had me down for flood damage [ I live on the side of a hill] never have I ever made a claim. and I live nearly fifty feet above sea level. So a phone was made by angry me . As a result my premium has now been reduced by nearly 700.00dollars
They will try anything !!

We are in a similar place to yourselves in the way you describe it, although we're over 100 feet above sea level. August 2020 we goot flooded by water coming down the hill.

Well done for re-negotiating the cost.

I had a similar conversation about ten years ago which ended with me telling the insurance agent that if my home was to flood the nice tall office building he was sat in would have 50ft of water over the roof. Common sense prevailed
