I hadn't ventured into this area of the forums much so had started on my project before seeing the 52 movement on here!

My project for the year is 50 shots at 50mm. I'm looking to post around one a week with the aim to improve my ability within the "confines" of the 50mm focal length. If I have time I may jump onboard and catch up with the 52 as well :)

I really like that, the light really lends itself to a dramatic shot and you've captured it just right
 
Agreed, the contrast of the light against the dark building works very well. Great idea of using just the 50mm lens, it's cheap but gives great results and helps you think about composition!
 
Excellent. Well composed, and the bright and dark areas work really well. The lack of symmetry certainly adds something to it too.
 
Great shot Julian - I like the way the light seems to change the shape to a pitched roof, if that makes sense?
 
Thanks all, I really struggled to get time for this during this week. Another docks one I'm afraid, I do like the colours and reflections but the framing of the shot could be better. New camera was playing up, only had it a day!!! Mirror was going mad after shutter release, ERR 20 anyone? (7D).

 
Not very impressive this week I'm afraid. Finding it hard to get the time to do this. I shall try and persevere though!

I'm thinking that a themed weekly is probably the way to go as this 50 at 50 is a bit open. I suppose I will just have to try harder to make it interesting!
