Jimmy Forsyth dies

:( RIP

Just been looking through some of his images. I'd love to do something like that myself, document local life as it is now.

It'd be a very dangerous undertaking if you tried to cover the whole spectrum.

95's not a bad innings and his work will last a long, long time yet.

Similar work to that done by Harry Benson in Glasgow, times have changed though. If you took a pic like this nowadays you'd be up in court so quickly your feet wouldn't touch the ground...

Think you should, seeing some of your work, which is very good by the way, you could capture many images in the normal course of what you do, as could many in the forum.

Maybe its possible for a group of the forum members to create and start contributing to a thread dedicated to 'real life' which is rather like a street photo thread I guess but more specific.

I had seen Jimmys work on a few occassions and met him at one of the exhibitions years ago. Real Person.

I am rather hoping that non-pro (don't like the implication of the word amateur) togs take some real inspiration from his work. His life too if it comes down to it. Also a thought toward equipment not being the be all and end all, its not, its the person driving the machine that makes the real difference, just my thoughts anyway.
