"Jihadi John" taken out by the Americans

We don't know about any collateral damage yet and we can't assume that whoever had their finger on the trigger didn't have very good information. It may be that someone was watching JJ and knew exactly who was in the car with him. Hopefully no innocents were on board and that's the scenario I'm hoping for. Time may bring more info but we may never be told the whole truth if anyone does indeed know it.

Growing up I was always taught that we shouldn't celebrate the death of anyone. I do still believe that celebrating a death no matter how vile the individual was in life is wrong and that we should at the most just be grateful that their reign of terror is over and they can't hurt anyone else. So I wont be exactly cheering but I'll allow myself to be a little relieved that a man who carried out cruel acts is no more.
 
Well, they all need to be killed as well. They can't be allowed to carry on with their inhumanity.

Thoroughly sick of hearing about the ME and other similar places. Hell of a lot of the people there will never stop looking for an excuse to fight anyone they can find and commit atrocities. All their problems are always someone else's fault - they say.

How did this piece of garbage Jihadi John come to get that name. His name is not John. It is Mohammed. So if his name is to be prefixed by Jihadi he should be called Jihadi Mohammed.

:agree: 'taking him out' has only served to give him the herioc death he would have likely craved, dying as a martyr to his cause, a hero to his followers and he will now languish amoung his virgins, whilst at the same time the gloating PM will only serve to stir yet more trouble and in turn will give himself and his chums the excuses they need to fire yet more missiles and bombs, all the while lining their pockets with the profits from the ordanance used.

Mohammed is pretty much as common in usage as John in the middle east.
It's what the lowest common denominations understand.

Arresting him and putting up on trial had very little to no chance of ever happening. Assasinating him was probably the only option, but why go in front of the media to justify it? did we really need to know? in my mind probably not. In doing so the PM might well have made things even worse than they already are, why give IS a free bit of advertisement? Celebrating killing people is something quite abhorent, regardless of their belief or history. I firmly believe that many of the decisions involving such strikes are made with profit foremost in the minds of those who decide on them.

publicising it is just giving a simple message to anyone who might be thinking of emulating his example "don't f*** with us or this will happen to you"

Oops. It was supposed to be a bit of self deprecating humour regarding some of my promiscuity during the 80's and not intended as offensive. Your comments are noted. Ta!

However, I will clarify that the term 'fat slag' referred to the popular cartoon characters from the Viz comic who do remind me of some lasses I knew back then and not to any person or group of people in general. Good time girls who liked a laugh and all the rest, good days.

Some of the subsequent comments aimed at being directly offensive to me are un called for. Normally I'd laugh them off (don't dish it out if you can't take it type of thing) but if I'm being singled out for chastisement, which I accept by the way, I feel it appropriate to voice my concern regarding these. For ther record I'm neither, small penised, gay, vile, little nor have I ever used any internet based dating apps to obtain casual sex. I have been married for 23 years and can, hand on heart, state I have never slept with anyone else in that time. My promiscuity is firmly laid (pun intended) back in the 80's. My dad (RIP) did always used to say to me that as I bludgeon my way through life, I'd get in bother as people would not always get my sense of humour (self deprecating or not). Maybe I should have listened;). Hope this clarifies.

I'm now of to walk the dog. That's not a euphemism but you should have seen what the auto correct spell checker just took up.:D

I am aware of that but made the point before any inference in that direction. That's why I added it to the end of that particular sentence.
