Off to see Jethro Tull tomorrow :D

To make matters worse - I'm taking my eldest daughter (yes she likes them) to her first ever concert.

She fancied the Sonisphere festival - Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax but that's serious daddy time with his old mates

Anyway - Tull were part of my early upbringing so I'm actually really looking forward to it as I haven't seen them in ages.

nowadays he'd probably have a dslr too :naughty:

How good was that = cheers buddy !

Didn't realise they were still going! The Sonisphere thingymajig sounds much better :)

The first group I ever really got into, top stuff then and still good now. I went to see them a couple of years ago and took the missus who hated it and as a revenge made me go to see Duran Du'bloody'ran........

Nice clip Graham, they are fab live but Ian has slowed down a bit now.

Never heard of any of them.

Are you a young person? :D Tull were one of the biggest groups of the 60's/70's and had many platinum selling albums. They look a bit old fashioned now but musically there were and are very few bands to touch them.

I'm dead envious! I love Jethro Tull :) Ian Anderson has to be one of the most talented musicians ever. I saw them live a few years ago - brilliant!

Will be sure to let you know how it goes......

I only realised they were touring a few days after the Colston hall gig in Bristol :(

Saw them at Hammersmith Odeon about 20 years ago and they were excellent and also Ian Anderson joined Fairport convention on stage at a Cropredy I went to, for John Barleycorn I think (a lot of 6X had been consumed at that point of the evening!)

It's surprising how many youngsters like the old bands, well lets face it there's not a lot for them to choose from with the crap these days, really envious mate hope you enjoy, funnily enough i bought a CD of JT quite recently, bought back some fond memories :)

Would rather the Sonisphere festival tbh, just seeing Metalica live is enough.

Not the UK gig anyway. Only Poland, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Greece & Turkey have all 4 big guns. Also the likes of Rammstein and Mastodon are on those concerts so if you can get out there, it's worthwhile.

Sonisphere has my money this year, though I am a little tempted by Download ...

My mate saw the last incarnation of Deep Purple a couple of years ago - said it was fantastic.

I don't really dig on the 70s stuff, but Tull and Purple I imagine I'd go for, and perhaps Emmerson Lake & Palmer.

I love Tull and have seen them many times and they've never delivered anything less than an amazing performance. I'm sure both you and your daughter will have a great time.

Great night.

Obvious highlights Aqualung, Locomotive Breath and a pretty full on rendition of Nothing is Easy. Budapest was pretty good too. Ian Anderson was straining a bit on some of the vocals but musically they were pretty tight.

Dun Ringill, The Water Carrier, Life Is a Long Song, Eurology, Nothing Is Easy, A New Day Yesterday, Songs From The Wood, Tea With The Princess (instr.), Fat Man, Bourée, A Change Of Horses, Bug, Budapest, Aqualung, Enc - Locomotive Breath.

Glad you enjoyed it. Tull and Fairport Convention (huge buddies of mine) have been interchangable for decades.

I'm off to Cropredy in August as usual.

If you're into metal and rock, have you ever come across Airrace? Flipping brilliant the first time round and even better 25 years later.
