Jessops and quidco

Good question Ewan -I too have looked at this a couple of times and it seems to say 8% on everything. Plus (with the compatible voucher) another 5% but this time excluding DSLR's.

But 8% incl DSLR's sounds too good to be true so I reckon there's something wrong somewhere.

The page is poorly written/explained or contradictory; the final paragraph also appears to have an important word missing !

I'm just as baffled as you.

Mike

yep, would be very grateful if someone on here who has purchased a camera or lens through quidco can enlighten us.

looking to get a 5d m2 and a 17-40, 8% cashback would be pretty nice!

I bought my Sony A900 from Jessops via Quidco, takes a while to pay:

Jessops 1477.39 118.19 received

i bought d9- and lens via quidco
have bought other stuff through quidco aswell they do pay up
remember that they charge you £5 once a year they do take a while to pay but you can track th ecash and you do gt it

i originally bought a D90 from jessops through quidco and they were going to give me 8% which was about £68 cashback roughly, but my card details were declined for some reason and got a D300.
I still have money from last xmas in quidco and it's not easy to get it out :(

A while back I got my 40d from Jessops. Had no problem getting the quidco cashback (remember it is only a % of the non vat price).. Missed out as a few weeks back they were paying 10%. Current offer is still good. To be honest for a lot of dslrs quidco and interest free make Jessops a pretty good bet.

they transfer the cash to your bank or send a cheque not hard to get at all

I bought a 5D2 from Jessops on 24th October, when Quidco cash back was 10% :)

Quidco have already received the money and it will be paid to me on 31st December, straight into my bank account.

I also bought my 40D, 1D3 and 7D from Jessops and have had Quidco cash back acknowledged/paid on all of them.

Had no problem getting cashback on my D300 and 18-200VR.

£1600, got just under £118

Hi
Don't know anything about Quidco, but saw a Jessops 8% off code on web but wouldn't accept at check-out - phoned Jessops and they accepted order over phone with 8% off.

If you don't know anything about www.quidco.com it might be worth finding out. I've been a member for the last 4.5 years and to date have realised almost £1300 in cash back just by making the purchases I would normally make but going via the Quidco site first. Often the cash back is only a couple of percent, but on some things such as phone contracts, insurance and energy suppliers it can be anything from £20 to £150 in cash back, simply by going via Quidco. There is a £5 annual membership fee which is deducted from your cash back savings so you never have to pay anything up front.

More recently I have started using www.topcashback.co.uk (referral link here -> http://www.topcashback.co.uk/ref/tdodd) which can sometimes pay out more than Quidco and has no membership fees at all. I joined in September this year and already have accumulated £90 in cash backs, £31 of which I've already received and another £14 of which is ready to be claimed.

While Jessops is sometimes scorned for some of their pricing, on bodies they can often be very competitive and the Quidco or Topcashback (there are other cash back websites as well but I use these two) can normally seal the deal quite convincingly. I ended up paying £1170 for my 7D from Jessops, which I think was an outstanding price for a few weeks ago when £1299 was the best deal on the table for UK stock anywhere else.
