I have a Canon 450D and am looking at buying my first flash on a limited budget. I am thinking of buying the Jessops 360AFD Digital Flashgun - on sale at £79 at the moment.

My limited knowledge suggests this would be a perfectly good first flash, though I'm hoping for a little advice.

Would this be a good investment for my money, or are there better alternatives for a similar ammount?

Has anyone who uses this specific flash any opinions good or bad?

Cheers.

Marc.

check the YN 460 its even cheaper

I have the YN460 and the jessops 300 (both used as slave) and I prefer much more the YN then the jessops.

Dont know bout the 360 though

I have the 300 and the 360, they are worlds apart... I don't think it's as good as something like the speedlights, but it works and works well for me.

If you go for the 460 get the MK2 version... That way you could afford a set of RF602 triggers too... see 'Flash in The Pan's' post in Advertiser's classifieds .. £28 for triggers at the mo in his sale..

I have both the 360afd and the Yongnuo 460. The 360AFD is TTL if that is a consideration for you.
I use the 360 via a cheap wireless system (about £20 on ebay) with the 460 set to slave.
I would say the most important thing would be to get a wireless system for which ever one you buy. You could get the Yongnuo 460 and wireless system for what you will be paying for the Jessops 360.
Had no problems with either machine. Had the 360 for almost a year.
Just a small thing, but the 460 comes with a bracket so it can stand up by itself. Very handy and something that the Jessops one doesnt come with.
Good luck.

Thanks for all the advice guys. Food for thought. Cheers.:)
