Hi all,

I've just bought a used Jessops 360 afd for my Nikon which seems to work perfectly well on camera.

I am not sure about off camera though and wondered if anyone who uses one could assist me?

Basically when i put it into slave mode on the camera i can select power and all other settings. But when i put it into slave mode off camera (which is where is assume most flashguns would be used in slave mode) none of the buttons on the back operate, so it can only be used at 1/1 power.

Could someone who has one, or has use one give me their opinion on whether this is a 'feature' or a problem?

Cheers
Nick

it should go into Manual then you can select the power settings. I lost mine, and replaced it with two Yongnuo 460 MKII flashes. Need some triggers at some point..

Anyway keep trying the mode button etc..

The 360AFD doesn't work in Slave mode on the hotshoe at all - when you select that setting it disables the pins on the foot of the flash. If it is in that mode you should be able to adjust the power output though.....

thanks guys,

seems like it has a problem then as when its in slave mode and off the camera none of the buttons work so you cant change power output etc... you cant even light the display up :-(

There are a lot of duff examples of these floating about that were originally sold "spares or repairs" on Ebay

Thanks Graham.

I'vee opted for a sigma 530 instead, as i read some reviews on here and noted that the GN rating was higher. Hopefully it'll suit my needs.

Thanks for your help

Just got mine out, it did the same, turned off and on again and all works ok???

Hmm looks like it might be a common fault then??

I've sent mine back now. Shame as i think they are quite a good flash for the money.

Got myself a sigma 530 instead as it came up for good money.
