Just bought this F60 from ebay, can wait to give it a go having never shot film before.

Anybody else shot digital first then got a film camera?

Its not a trend, its a natural progression....

faff with the plastic stuff then move on to the real mccoy..:)

Well, its not for everybody, but you don't really know till you try it.
Are you going to develope your own or send it out ?

This is one of the reasons I married Kate - at 5ft 1" she can't even reach my shoulders, let alone look over them...
 
i've been thinking about getting a film body.
dunno if i'd really use it much atm, when i'm taking for fun, i'm not convinced enough in my own ability, it doesn't cost me anything to take a digital picture.
for stuff i'm doing for other people, they want digital, and i've not been that impressed with film scans, i'd rather just shoot digital

Probs just send it out at the start, but may start developing my own after a while.
 
Well if anyone wants my EOS 10s they are welcome. I can't see any point at all using film when there are so many advantages to digital. Sure film has it's own character - but is that a good thing necessarily? For fun and art I guess film is ok - but how many professionals use it in preference now?

* creating a traditional photographic look (48 percent);
* capturing shadow and highlighting details (45 percent);
* the wide exposure latitude of film (42 percent); and
* archival storage (38 percent).
 
i started with an old zenith , you had to work it all out your self no fancy meter but a great way to learn and they were like a brick
 
my first camera was a zenith way back when i was 12 or so.still got an f60 and f80 film to play with.problem is now that i can't get into the bathroom/darkroom for long enough to process my own.to many people in the house lol..
 
You'll love the F60. I went from a point n shoot to DSLR (D70). Last year I did an A Level photography course so had to buy a film camera as it was a film based course. I got the F60 too - it's just the same as the D70 (well, except for the fact that it's film!). Great fun awaits you!

Thats good to know, never really looked at the specs that much, was also looking at the F80 but didn't want to spend too much. I only bought it as an occasional mess around thing and also just for the experience of shooting film.
