....and broke the foot of another canon 550ex flash - again!:help::withstupid:

The 1ds and L glass just laughed - so no problem there - I was sorting out my kit for a shoot on Sunday, and caught my foot in the strap of my camera and it fell from the bed to the floor. The funny thing is I was going to do an update to my "I can’t drop my camera post" http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=48538

this will be a good test to see how good fixation (in London) are - they have fixed one of these before but I need it done really quick this time as I have a day of paid press work - a wedding - a horse show and a large half marathon to cover all in three days next weekend and need the flash for all of it.

Nightmare! Hope it gets sorted nice and quickly for you!

(By the way, this dropping cameras thing - as a habit you know there are better ones you could concentrate on! :lol: )
 
OUCH... i dropped my 24-70f2.8 at the weekend it somehow managed to become detached from my 5D... :S slowed the fall with my trainer before it hit the asphalt, luckily it still works fine with only a small chip in the paint.

Good luck with the repair, hope you get it back in time.

this sounds very much like a problem we had at work - a guy dropped his laptop but to try and save it from damage he put his foot out - er a bit too fast and booted it across the room,...


L glass is tough...
 
Its 1 thing im trained to not do at work, as i work with some delicate parts and wear steal-toe cap booties... the short drop to the floor is often less damaging than a nice steal-toed kick.

Instinct somehow steps in and you give the dropped item a nice kick.
