iTunes Plus available from today - that's DRM free MP3s. Currently EMI only. And you can upgrade stuff you've already bought by paying the difference. As I understand it, the bit rate is higher too.

Server's overloaded atm so I can't do the upgrade now.

Also, needs new iTunes version 7.2

drm is a thorny subject, personally i dont see a problem with it on dvd, music is a bit tougher, ive had a few issues with mp3 after licence folders have been moved or similar stupid stuff

and the DRM-free material carries code to identify the purchaser. No problem, unless it turns up on a file sharing site.

I often wonder when its going to hit us lot as photographers. We've already got DRM dvd's, movies, cd's, mp3s but images haven't been hit yet. I think iTunes+ is a step in the right direction. Apple led the way with online music sales and hopefully this will steer the industry to a DRM free system.
