iTunes/Apple ID problem

I seem to be having an issue when trying to download from iTunes. When I try to download an app for example, the box with my Apple ID pops up and prompts me to enter my password. I put my password in and click on download and the box vanishes. So far so good and, at this point, I expect the app to start downloading. But it doesn't, the Apple ID/Password box pops up again. I've tried resetting the password but it still does the same thing.

Anyone else had this issue and know of any resolution?

I'm having the same problem, it must be a problem with the servers at Apple, try signing out, signing back in again then downloading, this works for me on OSX and Mrs Timbo on windows.
