Itunes and Quicktime Download

Anyone had any problems when down loading itunes. I have tried umpteen times and it keeps coming up saying instalation failed. Please try again :thinking:

Any help would be appreciated as it is starting to drive me mad :bang: :lol:

Mate of mine had a similar problem. Download the file - make sure you 'save as' - don't 'run' it.

Make sure you download the file to somewhere you can find it - desktop, downloads, my documents - whatever. Once the file has downloaded go and find the file and double click to install.

if youre running 64 bit OS are you installing the 64 bit version of itunes?

I *think* it is to do with admin permissions. As the 'update' download wants to install after downloading, it trips over the lack of correct permissions. I had this all the time on Vista (not it's fault, Apple should realise that downloading and installing may trip secured systems). The way forward is to download the programs from the Apple website and then install yourself.

Incidentally this scenario doesn't occur on win 7.

Thanks Neil. Still having the same problem.

It starts to download and then stops after about a minute saying the installer had encountered an error. Try and run the installer again :bang::bang::bang:
