Well I drifted away from here just about a year ago.
I'd got to a point where I was taking still photos but also taking stock.
Taking stock of what I was putting into photography - trying all sorts of cameras, digital, 35mm and MF, mf lenses onto digital and what I was getting out of photogrpahy - images of family, of social events, landscapes, street candids, all for my own interest.
I sold a lot of kit and I didn't quite part with all my Mamiya 645 kit largely because I'm tight and wasn't prepared to give it away. I still love the ergonomy of shooting MF but dislike the processing costs. So I kept a body and some lenses.
I kept my Olympus OM system kit and still grab an OM1 and a roll of homeload B&W ASA100 or 400 most weekends.
I still have the 5DII kit and use that with either L lenses or FD/FL converted lenses depending how the mood takes me.
Oh yes I've just put the money down on another Contax G1 kit. I sold the first one but I still love the look and feel of this kit and the quality of the lenses.
For me it's still a matter of taking a camera when I go somewhere rather than grabbing the camera and going to a place to record something.
So I'm back for a bit at least. I shall likely haunt the FILM pages, possibly even the digital pages. Am I here to learn from others? I think so. Am I here to share? Almost certainly. Am I going to stay long? That I don't know.
