Well, my 100mm f/2.8 macro arrived today. Now what do I do Seriously, this may sound very dumb but when attempting to take shots do you treat the camera the same as you would with a normal lens with regards your settings and so forth? Sorry for being a dunce!!!

Depends if you want to use it as a general lens or use the 1:1 macro feature. The latter simply has you put it on MF, set the scale on the top to 1:1 [look at the gold numbers on the barrel and in the window] and find yourself something to shoot in lifesize glory!

The usual technique is to keep the lens on 1:1 and rock backwards and forwards until the subject is in sharp focus.

I shall also have a go this way and will hopefully find that macro is for me. I have been desperate to do macro stuff for ages so fingers crossed!!

Actually, its probably better to stop it down to at least f8 (providing you can keep the shutter speed up), as the depth-of-field when close up is so low.
