not sure how to ask this in basic english but here goes. i wear glasses for close reading. i took a slightly blurry close up picture yesterday in MF and although i have set up the eyepiece i wonder does the glasses thing affect close up photography work . and does adjusting the eyepiece adjust the camera as well or is that purely to help my eye ? if anyone can make sense of that question and can write it better or even answer it then your welcome to do so !!

thanks in advance :suspect:

The diopter sets the viewfinder to match your eyesight if you are not wearing glasses or contacts when taking shots. It's very simple to set...

Have your camera autofocus on something, then, adjust the diopter control to bring the image through the viewfinder (or the diopter dots in the viewfinder) into focus. If you can't bring the diopter adjustment in to focus, then you need to install an eyepiece diopter to match your eyesight. Go to a camera store to figure out what eyepiece diopter you require.

To answer your question though, no, it doesn't change the focusing of the lens or camera. It only affects your view through the viewfinder so if you are autofocussing, then it's irrelevant. It only becomes important when you are manual focussing

thank you ! i knew there would be a simple answer.
