Hi,

Yesterday while I was out hiking in Pontneddfechan I found the above hood that seems to be in perfect condition. Obviously someone dropped it, and is possibly looking to buy a replacement

If this is yours, or you know whom it belongs to, please PM me and I will mail it over.

It's a long shot wail, but very good of you to try.
Not many have Pentax gear, the only one I now of is Delipher but she had all of her gear for sale not so long ago and may have gone over to one of the big two.

Yeah, I know it is a very long shot that I can return this to the rightful owner; but as photographers, we know all too well how bitter it can be to lose any of our gear ... and how wonderful it would be to get back something long-lost.

By the way, I figure it is a Pentax by googling the numbers on the hood :)

Years ago I traded-in my car for another one, but I forgot my sunglasses in a compartment in the car (they were a very expensive pair). A couple of years later I got a call from someone who'd bought my "old" car and found the glasses ... that person traced back the ownership of the car to me and my glasses found their way back home. :) I can't tell you how happy I was to get them back.

Back to main topic, if anyone does come accross someone who's lost her / his Pentax hood then do let me know.

Not many have Pentax gear

I'm one.

PZ-1P, LX, KX (x 3), *ist D & DS etc. (over a dozen bodies).

Pentax 28mm shift, 35mm, f/1.4 50mm, f/1.7 50mm & 55mm etc.

Bunch of MF Tokina and Tamron glass from 17mm to 400mm.

Bunch of AF Tokina, Tamron and Sigma glass from 10mm to 200mm.

No current Pentax glass, as yet (sadly).

Latest purchases: Vivitar 2x macro TC; Tamron f/2.8 35-105mm.

Sadly very few Pentax SLRs are being sold, in the old film-days Pentax was a big time player along with Olympus and Minolta, to name a couple.

I had, what I think was, the only 110 film SLR which was made by Pentax ... had the whole kit with wide angle, telephotos, motor-drive, rubber hoods. Pitty I sold them, as it would have been great to have now :(

Happily, enough Pentax dSLRs are being sold for the company to offer innovative and competitively priced quality products and for 3rd-party lenses to be available with the venerable Pentax mount.

I had my 110 SLR brought to me for a stay in hospital. I'd bought it for cycletouring but an accident intervened. The guy in the next bed and I were both being sent for body casts and the nurses were ribbing us that we'd have to have a hole to pee through. In the plaster room I asked them to make a toilet roll tube into the right kind of spoof add-on, and they did the same for the other chap. During the ward round we pulled the sheets aside to complain about what they'd done to us, and out came the 110 to catch the reaction (Oooh, Matron!).

That’s hilarious :lol::lol::lol: …

By any chance do you still have the 110?

Yep. Though it started playing up with the flash, which was the main use I ended up having for it.

Giving this a bump ... may be someone "new" can find the home for this hood ?!?

If you cant find its rightful home, I will take it of your hands and pay postage, also I will stick £5.00 into TP, if one of the MODs can tell me how to do it.

I lost mine somewhere, but it definitely wasnt in Wales.

Seppi,

PM sent :)
