The crux of the story coming home from Devon on Tuesday I forgot to check my caravan cables and managed to drag one on the road cutting some wires , only needs about 3 inches taken out and rejoined which I’m fully capable of doing myself , but I needed some small bullet connectors to make a neat job , so off we trots to the caravan shop … nope we don’t stock them try the towbar fitters nope we don’t sell them but we can do it for you .. no ta … eventually popped into a car spares place and got some …on the way home I said to the Mrs I’m sure I bought a crimping set in Lidl a couple of years ago . Went in the garage when home and yep I certainly did 3 bloody boxes of electrical connectors in fact I had forgotten all about .. nice drive through scenic north wales though LOL

Yes..the scenery up there is lovely..Lol.

I wouldn't be beating yourself,Jeff. Not age-related atall. Par for the course for anyone, I'd say. C'est La Vie, as they say. Now put some of those bullet connectors in the car .

Anyway, you were at Bempton not long ago. We're back up there next Sunday for a few days re a long-standing invite from my wife's friend and her husband. We ended up with them last time, not long after you were there, due to a double-booking mistake at the accommodation. They'll go off to Whitby, Filey, Scarborough for the day and I'll go to the cliffs. West wind this time..off-shore, so better re gannets.

The amount of times I have said , " I have one somewhere " spend 1 hour looking for it, Give up ,
Go buy a new one the some time later I find it so now I have to 2

I can safely say it starts kicking in during the 40's - so many times I've bought stuffs [selotape, batteries, screws 'n' plugs, cables etc] only to discover a pile of same in the 'man drawer' - some day I'll learn to check there first!

Yep...... that's me as well!!!

And after I've given up searching I usually come across it.... :headbang:

Why is it always in the last place that you look

Why is it always in the last place that you look
Because it's pointless to look anywhere else once you've found it?

Don't even mention the drawer with all the useful bits in! Nuts, bolts, screws, washers, tacks, bits of plug sockets, batteries left over from multi-packs, bulbs, LED's, plectrums, old phones and chargers, wires with assorted plugs on the end, etc., etc!

This is what I referred to earlier as the "man drawer" - it's a definite thing! we all got one!

Its the drawer next to the USB cable drawer.

If any of you ever meet "Justin Case", can you tell him that his stuff is here, there and everywhere!

...and it's just so satisfying to re-organise it.

Then re-organise it.

Then re- organise it.

Then ...

:tumbleweed:

I can recommend the 4 yard skips. Everything in one place, so that you know where it isn't and can just go to the shop and buy one (and only one, so that you don't need to keep the rest, "just in case"!).
