Nope, I was there in September and no bargains to be had, at least at window prices. I didn't go in and haggle, and like everything else in Istanbul, maybe haggling can get you a good deal. (As in, "Ten for that? You must be mad!" etc etc.)

There is an area full of electronics/camera shops in the area of the old town behind the spice bazaar and new mosque. Worth a wander around, but I doubt serious bargaining can be had without speaking the language.

It's a great city though, very photogenic. Enjoy.

Be aware of what you're haggling for. In my experience you haggle and get a good price, they then tell you they want an extra wad of cash for the battery, the charger or even the lens case.

If you are prepared to haggle then get them to confirm what you are getting first.

as soon as you are outside of the tourist areas (bazaar etc) then you really need to speak Turkish to be able to haggle well. There will be good prices to be had but you'll have to search, and its debatable if you could beat a HK grey importer over here - and you'd have the warranty issues but no dealer support.

Stunning city though - lots of great photo ops.
